The End of a Game and The Continuation of a Tale.

Mandy died last night. There wasn't anything very fulfilling about killing her. There hadn't been anything very fulfilling about killing anyone in this game. I'm the last Murderer of course and I lied about my name. My name is Sergei Korchaviv or The Faceless Bastard as I'm more commonly known.

The end of this game was a farce and I'm sure The Dying Man isn't happy, with how things went, but screw that body jumping bastard.

Nathan and I met at the meeting table. Gina was there too, but it didn't matter. She wasn't really there. She was wrapped up in her own little world of trauma. Nathan was grinning. He was planning to kill me, but I had a different proposition.

"Look asshole. I get it you're 4's brother right. You want me dead for killing your precious sister. Fair enough, but is this how you want it to go out. Killing me as part of some stupid game? No. You want a fight. You want to fight me on our own terms in a battle to the death. So, I have a suggestion. We both agree to kill Gina. I win this game and we both leave alive. We go our separate ways for now until this whole things is done and then you come find me and we'll have it out. Properly. Once and for all," I suggested. His grin faltered. He stared at me then glanced at Gina. She didn't seem to even be aware as we plotted her death right in front of her.

"Agreed," he stated and then before I could even do anything he reached out a hand, grabbing her head and squeezed. I heard a loud crack as her skull caved in and she let out only the merest of squeaks before she collapsed, blood oozing from what was left of her crushed cranium.

"When I find you again. You won't be dying as quickly as she did," he informed me and I nodded. The Black cloaks didn't seem happy, but they escorted us both out of the hospital through The Dying Man's own domain called The River or something to that effect. A bunch of streams trickling into one massive ocean. A metaphor for the creature itself. Bit heavy handed if you ask me, but The Fears seem not to have a great gasp of subtetly. So, game's done and now I can get back to my proper life and forget this whole dull affair.

It's so sad. Usually I love meaningless murder, but it's so boring when you turn it into a game. Removes all the fun from it. As weird as that sounds.

My Card.

Special Rule: Murderer: Allowed to travel to another player's room at night and kill them.  Are aware of the other murderers.

Special Rule: Agent of Death: Once per game.  Can send a Black Cloak to kill someone. Ignores any special rules that player has.

I used that second rule to kill Diana. I was kidding about all that attraction stuff. Just thought it would make me seem less likely when she eventually died. I think it worked out.

I did it! I can't believe it and it was so close too. Okay let me explain. So, I have a special power role. One I've been keeping secret. When I chose to be the narrator it came with an actual role and ability. I guess it's a reward for taking such a thankless job. Basically it's a good sided version of Herbert's Identifier role, but only one use. It was now or never and I took my chance. I had a 1 in 9 chance of getting it right and I got it. Warren Hayman was the Dying Man. There were also two kills tonight. Curtis Devon the son of Jenny and Michael Devon was killed in the night as was James Olliver. Curtis Devon turned out to be a shard. In fact the entire Devon family turned out to be shards. Which meant there were four Dying Men meaning if Curtis hadn't been killed we would have lost immediately. This was the luckiest thing ever and now there are four of us. Mandy will undoubtedly die tonight since Nathan won't kill me and can't kill Gina, which means tomorrow is the ending. Me, vs Nathan. Again.

Desperation.

Two people are dead today. Alexis Mycelle and Wanda Mullen are dead. Only one of them was murdered at night. Alexis was killed by Nathan by vote. Which means there might be another Dying Man shard as well. Which is bad. We haven't found the Dying Man yet. I have a chance a small one, but I can take it and maybe win this for us or doom everything. Guess we'll see.

Not much to say today.

More people are dead. The normal number. Just 2. We'll all be dead soon enough. Sarah Lynn, and Morgan Kurtis are dead. Oh wait sorry... I was wrong. Barry Adrian is dead too. He killed himself. Somehow that completely slipped my mind. I may seem a bit out of sorts, but of course you realize that's basically normal. We've been here eight days. Every day people are dying. Most of us are just going through the motions. Only Nathan seems at all enthusiastic these days. I think by now most people have sided with me that he's the killer which is good news or bad news depending on how you look at it. It means that when the time comes they won't kill me first probably and we might win, but it also means that he might eventually decide it's not worth leaving me alive as cover any longer. Not that any of it matters since we're all dead anyway. We can't find the dying Man and time is running out. Anyway I guess the good news is however they managed to kill Diana does not seem to have been repeated in order to kill Gina, but Gina's not much good anyway. She's lost her mind since killing Xavier and is in no position to lead things. No one, but Nathan seems willing to take the reins, but I'll be damned if I'll let him run this show. I guess I'll have to do something. I'll have to find The Dying Man.

Oh and we drew straws to decide who to lynch today... Christina drew the short straw... She was innocent. The sting of killing an innocent person has kind of drained at this point. Everyone just looked annoyed and tired as she begged for her life. We're not humans anymore. We don't have empathy. We're just players and we just want to win and survive.

and then everything was awful...

So, more people died of course. Three this time. Terrence Amossa, Patricia Lena and Xavier Warner are all dead.

Now you might be thinking how can three people be dead? There are only two Murderers left?

Well let's learn about two new special rules. The Sanctifier and The Cannibal. Xavier Warner was The Sanctifier. He can visit someone every night and if he does they become immune to being Possessed by The Dying Man for that night and the next. If the person they visit is already possessed that person dies. Apparently a roll added in to make The Dying Man's Life a little bit harder. Which is fair.

The Cannibal however is a special role that can steal a special rule from a dead player once per game. Gina Lewis is The Cannibal and she took Diana's Jumpy Rule. As a result she was provided with Diana's gun and used it to shoot Xavier when he came to sanctify her.

Oh also I forgot to explain the Bloodthirsty special Rule Sylvia had. It just meant she had to kill someone every night and could not choose not to kill.

Anyway we found the dead people and Gina in shock from having killed Xavier without reason. She obviously hasn't ever killed anyone before. She was freaking out pretty bad and Jenny Devon offered to help calm her down as we now had to deal with how to find and kill The Dying Man. There are 16 of us now and the Dying Man is hopefully killing. God the last thing we need is to find out there's another power role that kills people and that the Dying Man is still turning people.

It does occur if all The Murderers know each other than the last Murderer and The Dying Man know who each other is right. The Murderer can't survive the game if The Dying Man wins so it's in the Murderer's best interest to kill The Dying Man and it's in The Dying Man's best interest to turn the final Murderer right? So... then probably both are The Dying Man at this point? Or... Maybe not? Maybe The Dying Man turning someone makes them lose their other special rules so if he turns the murderer too quickly then the number of murders will drop and his chance of winning will be vastly lessened. It's a little game. Neither can survive with the other, but it's in their best interests to cooperate until one is likely to win without the other... Maybe we'll be lucky and they will kill each other? Probably not. Anyway... Cory Fenox was a particularly shady guy and it was a hard choice made, but we chose him as the most likely to be The Dying Man. Nathan did the killing. His obvious glee at murdering someone should really make it obvious he's the murderer, but at the same time him being seemingly the only one willing to kill, makes the rest of us loath to be rid of him. How will we win if we can't kill... I can't imagine what will happen when we have to kill him?

Unfortunately as well Cory was not The Dying Man. Not even turned by The Dying Man. This game is turning us into animals. We've been responsible for the deaths of other human beings now. We all killed Cory who was as far as we know a completely innocent man... and we're going to have to do it again if we want to survive.

Just two more and one of them is him.

So... As expected Rich is dead. Martin Curry and Franklin Isaacs are dead as well. Which means there are three kills despite there only being three murderer's left meaning The Dying Man is killing again. This is just great. Nathan killed Sylvia of course. Which means we have two more murderers to deal with. One of whom is the Dying Man and the other of course is Nathan, but I'm having some trouble convincing the others of this. An intriguing point has been raised that perhaps neither of us is a murderer... Well I mean in this game at least. I know he's a murderer, but just because he is actually a murderer outside the game doesn't mean that The Dying Man picked him as one of the murderers... Does it? These rules are confusing. Regardless we have reached the decision. We're going to try and see if we can figure out who The Dying Man might be tomorrow and focus on killing him. Then once he's gone we'll have to decide to kill one of the two of me or Nathan. There must be 4 Dying Man pieces in this game at this point assuming The Dying Man was turning people everytime he wasn't killing and that's too many for comfort. I suppose to make it easier I should split the list of living and dead people.

There are 19 people still alive. and despite killing 3 murderers that is still 5 bad guys to worry about. Which is of course bad. If The Dying Man ends up having more of himself then there are of us we're doomed. We don't want to try and find the Turned though we want the original. He said that would make them all die so we can wipe them all out at once. Then it would just be Nathan and we'd win.

A ray of hope. For a bit at least.

So, Lillian is dead which sucks as is The Lonne family, but we have good news. Another Power Role has come forward and has led to the death of another murderer and the known identity of a second which leaves only three left and only two still unknown. Rich Manfred came forward and explained that he has a special rule that lets him send a black cloak to watch a certain person's room each night. He watched Lillian's room when she was locked in and knows who did that and he was watching Jennifer Lonne's room last night. When asked why he didn't come forth yesterday he admitted that he was hoping to get something more before he came forward, since it's incredibly likely he'll die tonight now that he's come forward. If he had come forward last night, there might have been one less kill last night, but we wouldn't have caught the second person. Which is fair enough.

So... Anyway the outed murderers are Monica Adrian who was the one who caused Lillian to be held in her room according to Rich and Sylvia Connor who killed Jennifer Lonne. We agreed to kill Monica now and Sylvia tomorrow. Barry Adrian was distraught telling us that it couldn't be Monica. That he'd known her all his life. He accused Rich of lying which it occurs is possible. Since nobody knows the power roles that exist it would be possible to claim any sort of special power and people would only know if you were lying after your death. Regardless Nathan made the decision for us. He pushed Barry out of the way and grabbed Monica by the throat. She drew out a knife hidden in her sleeve and slashed at him, but he caught her arm and broke it with his bare hand. Guy has some freakish strength, but I already knew that. I'd experienced it first hand when I tried to fight him after he killed my friend.

After Monica died we found her card.

Special Rule: Kidnapper: Can send a Black Cloak to lock someone in their room. Preventing them from taking part in the day meeting.

So, a Black Cloak was sent to watch Lillian by Rich. That Black Cloak saw another Black Cloak sent by Monica enter Lillian's Room and told Rich it was Monica... Which it sort of was by proxy? Whatever it works I guess.

Tomorrow we kill Sylvia and hopefully then we'll find the last two.

Everything was going so well.

So... There were another 3 deaths tonight. Which you would think exonerates me, but nope!

Diana reed, Harold Gorbandt and Liam Rogers are dead.

You heard that right. Diana Reed our unkillable cop is dead. Lillian isn't dead... We think, but she's not at the meeting either. There's a Black Cloak blocking entrance into or out of her room. We're assuming this is some other sort of special role. Which means she can't tell anyone that I didn't go anywhere last night and so there's no way to prove I didn't now. Which means my head is still on the chopping block for now... There's no proof I am killing people and no proof that I'm not. Likewise there's no proof that Nathan is the murderous scumbag he is except for my word which isn't worth much right now.

Things certainly look bad, everyone, but nathan is still iffy about killing me though, which is good. If I'm lucky something will come forth to prove my innocence. It's seeming less likely now, but I can hope and I know if things get too bad. They'll definitely take me out in the vain hope that it will be the right thing to do. We need to get back control of this game if we want to live.

Heh if anything, the best defense I have is the fact that I look so suspicious. The Murderers are going out of their way to make me look bad. I mean if I was a murderer and the other murderers knew I was a murderer they'd be trying to help me look innocent not screwing me over like this, right? So... Ergo I must not be a murderer... It's a flimsy excuse, but it's enough to keep me alive for now...

How did they manage to kill Diana? What the hell happened? Everything was going so well before this.

Power Roles

So, this is more interesting than we all thought it would be. Those special rules certain people have have shown themselves to be quite useful.

Oh also Herbert North, Shane Michaud, Jim Henrickson and Felix Carter are dead. Herbert North was a murderer. After they are dead we are presented with the dead people's cards. Each of us has a card saying any special rules we have. Herbert North's said the following.

Special Rule: Murderer: Allowed to travel to another player's room at night and kill them.  Are aware of the other murderers.

Special Rule: Identifier: Can ask a black cloak to tell him the special rules of one other player each night.

So, he knew about certain special rules, but now that he's dead that information is gone. That's a bit of a shame, but it's good we got rid of a murderer. That leaves only four left... Or possibly more than four.

Right I should explain about what happened. So, Diana was the one who killed Herbert. See she informed us she has a special rule as well.

Special Rule: Jumpy: Your gun has been returned to you with a certain amount of bullets. You may use it to shoot someone entering your room during the night.

Herbert went to kill her and she shot him. This is very useful. As it means she can't be killed during the night. At least not easily.

Someone made the suggestion that we just show off all our cards and that will out who is and isn't a murderer. The Dying Man or more accurately a Black Cloak vetoed that idea. If anyone else willingly shows their card to another player we all die. Cards can from this point on only be shown after Death.

So, we also had another special rule, or as Curtis Devon called them Power Roles, reveal themselves. Lillian asked if the restriction was on revealing their special rule or on showing the card itself and was told it was the card itself. So, they told us that they have a special Rule that allows them to tell a Black Cloak to follow another player and see where they went. Apparently she had told it to follow my nemesis, who I have learned is Nathan to see if he visited anyone. Apparently he hadn't. Which turned suspicion back on me. I argued that there were only three kills. He could have easily just decided not to go anywhere. Most agreed, though Diana pointed out that might have just meant The Dying Man might have turned someone else instead of killing. Which of course was possible. I said, "Well then. Have the black cloak follow me tonight and if I am a murderer then either I'll kill and you'll catch me do it or I won't go anywhere and the number of murders will drop. If The Dying Man is turning people instead of killing there will be only 2 kills that night," I offered.

"What if The Dying Man decides to kill," Lillian offered and Diana shrugged. "Whatever this creature is it probably won't pass up the chance to get more allies, but it might. It's unclear if this creature is actually working with the murderer's or not. Have one of them followed at random. If they don't know which of them is being followed we can at the very least cut down on the number of deaths potentially,"

Diana is a smart woman. Smart and kind of attractive. Even if we do both survive this though I doubt she'd be interested in a guy like me. Even though I'm innocent she still looks at me with distaste.

Anyway here is the current player list. Can't wait to see if I die tonight.
